National AJET Internationalisation Awards

Purpose

The National AJET Internationalisation Awards recognise members of the Japanese community who have made a positive impact towards increasing international awareness in Japan. This includes offering support to JET Programme participants or by otherwise devoting their time and effort to internationalisation in their local communities.

Nomination Details

  1. Any current JET Programme participant (ALT, CIR, SEA) may nominate a member of their workplace or community who has made exceptional efforts to improve international awareness.

  2. Fill out the online National AJET Internationalisation Awards nomination form.

  3. Nominations must include a 250-500 word submission outlining why the individual deserves the award based on efforts made to encourage internationalisation.

  4. Nominations will be accepted in either English or Japanese.

  5. Multiple nominations may be submitted by the same JET participant.

  6. Self-nomination is permitted.

Judging Criteria

All entries are judged by the AJET National Council. The judges will consider the following when evaluating entries:

  • The initiation of activities to promote international awareness/understanding;

  • The support and promotion of a JET Programme participant’s grassroots internationalisation activities;

  • Personal commitment to international awareness, and the ability to work well with people of different cultural backgrounds;

  • The integration of international affairs and the international world-view into multiple aspects of work or daily life.

Awards Recognition

Nominated individuals who clearly demonstrate any or all of the judging criteria will receive a Letter of Recognition and Certificate of Achievement sent by the AJET National Council.
