Do you have suggestions for the JET Programme?

Do you have an opinion about JET Programme orientations, technology use in your workplace or how integrated you are into your workplace? If so, please take the National AJET surveys about these issues.

Since the JET Programme is over 4,000 members strong, National AJET surveys the concerns and comments of JET Programme participants twice a year and then presents the results to CLAIR and the ministries so that your voice is heard.

These surveys are vital to the longevity and improvement of the JET Programme.

October 2010: JET Effect Spotlight

Oct 2010 JET EffectThis month JET Effect is focusing on a successful JET musical that has been running for many years. Lisa Marie Cross from Kamojima has some great advice for any of those interested in starting something similar in their area.

The musical is produced and performed in Lisa’s prefecture of Tokushima and some serious dedication is expected to make the project work. Lisa states ‘the musical starts from January to March. We perform 5 times at different theatres throughout the prefecture. We have always tried to space them out so that there is at least one show that is a reasonable commute for our Japanese audience.’

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR TIME ON JET

Download Now
One of the JET Programme’s goals is to promote grassroots, international exchange. Indeed, many JET Programme participants (JETs) regularly participate in— or even design and implement— events and projects that promote internationalisation. On the other hand, many JETs have difficulty getting involved in these events, despite having more than ample time during work hours. There are many reasons for this, ranging from JETs’ lack of understanding of how to participate, to a high degree of difficulty in obtaining permission from contracting organisations.

Mid Year Conferences Reports

Download Now
This report will represent a general picture of current Mid Year Conferences presented annually in each prefecture (hereafter referred to as MYCs) and the strengths and weaknesses of these conferences as experienced by the JET community. This report focuses on the prefectural MYCs for ALTs and does not evaluate the CIR Mid Year Conference. Also, this report will provide case studies of prefectures that had significant positive reviews from their JETs, and what made those conferences exceptional. We invite CLAIR and the three ministries to offer their feedback and advice on this topic.

2009-2010 National AJET Surveys

Dear JETs,

National AJET would like to invite you to take the “Making the Most of Your Time on JET” Survey! This Survey will be used to gather data on the JETs’ work experience during slow periods. It will be used in the future to give JETs greater opportunities to participate in community outreach, career development and internationalisation projects during hours unoccupied with work duties. Your input is vital to us, so please take 5 mintues out of your day to respond.

“CLAIR Publications – Digital or Paper?”

CLAIR is thinking about going eco by digitalising some of their publications. Please take a look at this survey and let us and CLAIR know what you think. It will only take a few minutes.

Thank you so much for supporting National AJET! Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and contribution!

Got thoughts on how to change the JET Programme?
Twice a year, CLAIR gives the JET community a valuable opportunity to present its ideas and concerns on how to improve the JET Programme. The best way to be a part of this important process and to ensure your voice is heard is by participating in the AJET surveys. Each survey should only take 5-10 minutes of your time and will be invaluable in the preparation of reports.

All personally identifying information will be kept strictly confidential.
For any questions or comments regarding the AJET surveys and reports, please contact Jennifer Park at chair@ajet.net.

To take the surveys, click on the corresponding links below.
