Cheer for Fukushima is coming soon! Hosted by the international community in Tottori, Cheer for Fukushima is a campaign to raise money and awareness for the reconstruction of Iwaki Ikueisha, an orphanage in Iwaki City, Fukushima. The main event will take place on Sunday, May 24, 2015, but you can start getting involved and donating now!
Due to the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, Iwaki Ikueisha’s building suffered irreparable damage, resulting in poor living conditions and restricted access to heating. A new building is scheduled to be built, but the orphanage is short of the required funds (¥100m+). ALL proceeds from Cheer for Fukushima will go towards this target.
Cheer for Fukushima also intends to raise awareness of the continuing difficulties those affected by the disaster still face. Wherever you are based, get involved and show your support by taking a “Mirai-chan fan selfie” and uploading it to social media with the tag #cheer4fukushima!
