From late September through early October 2014, current JET Programme participants as well as JET alumni participated in AJET’s Autumn Survey on tourism and economic-related activities. In the following weeks, members of the AJET National Council and a small team of volunteers analysed the results and produced a report for Opinion Exchange. Additionally, in November of 2014, AJET opened a questionnaire focused on the recent changes to the JET counselling system; the gathered information and opinions were also crafted into a report for presentation.
On December 12th, 2014, members of the AJET National Council met with officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC); the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA); the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT); and the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) for Opinion Exchange. There, the results of these reports were presented, and their implications were discussed.
