Well you’ll be pleased to hear that a series of tournaments are run specifically for the JET community – The ALT Soccer Tournaments. We have been arranging tournaments since 2001 and welcome JETs from across the country for bi-annual tournaments in both Nagano Prefecture and Hyogo Prefecture. These spring and autumn festivals of football are open to all, male or female, big or small, serious or social, they are a great way to meet new people and enjoy football on some the best grass pitches Japan has to offer. Since beginning in 2001, the ALT Soccer Tournaments have welcomed over 9000 participants from the following prefectures. Eastern Japan Tournament – Sugadaira, Nagano Nagano, Aomori, Akita, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima, Tochigi, Niigata, Ibaraki, Gunma, Yamanashi, Toyama, Shizuoka, Gifu, Ishikawa, Fukui, Chiba and several from Tokyo. Western Japan Tournament – Awaji Island, Hyogo Kyoto, Shiga, Aichi, Nara, Wakayama, Tottori, Shimane, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Hiroshima, Kochi, Tokushima, Hyogo, Kagawa, Mie, Fukuoka and several from Nagoya and Osaka.
