All JETs are represented through Blocks, groups of prefectures that together elect one Block Representative to the AJET National Council.

Block 1: Hokkaido and Northern Tohoku
Block 1 is made up of Hokkaido, Aomori, Akita and Iwate prefectures. They are four prefectures located in the northern part of Japan’s main island of Honshu and the island of Hokkaido. Three of these four prefectures are collectively known as the Tohoku region and have a distinct culture and history from the rest of Japan. The region is known for its winters, which bring heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures, but also for its beautiful autumn foliage and delicious local cuisine, including seafood and rice dishes.
Block 2: Tohoku and Northern Koshinetsu
Block 2 includes Fukushima, Miyagi, Niigata, and Yamagata prefectures. Fukushima, Miyagi, Niigata, and Yamagata are four prefectures located in the northeastern part of Japan’s main island of Honshu.
Block 3: Kanto and Koshinetsu
Block 3 is home to Gunma, Ibaraki, Nagano, Saitama, Tochigi prefectures. These five are located in the central part of Japan’s main island of Honshu.
Block 4: Kanto
Block 4 includes Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Yamanashi, and Shizuoka prefectures. These five are located in the southeastern part of Japan’s main island of Honshu.
